To EDM: Zach Kassian, Tyler Ennis, 2010 1st (23)
To BUF: Sheldon Souray, Patrice Bergeron, Pick 43
Had to get rid of Souray, sad to Bergeron go but i couldn't pass up these 2 great picks and a solid pick.

Buffalo gets bent over big time....big time. Unless I'm missing something, I kinda feel like I need to put in a vote to veto here.

What I felt it was fair Buffalo gets the puck moving d-man they need plus a olymipic calibre center for a couple good prospects and the move down 20 spots, Bergeron should be worth as much as Carter and this is pretty close to the return you got, So if this is vetoed the Carter deal sould be too

I don't want to get into an argument, but Bergeron's value is below that of Carter. I'll leave it at that. Also, Souray certainly doesn't deserve a 1st in return, as he has almost negative value with his contract/injuries. If this trade was made 4 years ago it would definitely be fair, but Bergeron and Souray are both injuries waiting to happen. W/e everyone else votes is fine by me, it's just my opinion.

Well not to argue but, Souray does have injury issues but when healthy is still an elite D-man. Jeff Carter has no gold medal and Bergeron does so that should tell us who some of the best hockey minds in the world think is better, and Bergeron does have injury issues but when healthy he is one of the best 2 way centers in the game. So this deal is gamble for the Sabers but if they stay healthy then i het screwed. W/e everyone else votes is fine by me, it's just my opinion.

Somebody is getting a bit defensive. I also found something you might like: Troy Brouwer is a FA this year(I know I can't believe it) and he has a Stanley Cup! Don't tell anyone, but you should trade your non-Cup winning players like Eberle and your 1st overall and pick up Brouwer! I'd be willing to bet all the GM's in this league would choose Carter over Bergeron, except yourself, of course.
Come on man, the point of the system is to make sure things are fair. I'm not trying to be a jerk, and I might be the only one here with this opinion, but I just wanted to put it out there. Really, it's not a big deal.
Edit: I'm going to rebuke my veto (not that it really means anything). I didn't mean for this to get hostile.

I agree totally with jvr21. And I hate it when big name players get bounced around in one game.

I thought Brouwer was a good, although extreme, comparison because: 1. Neither Brouwer nor Bergeron did anything in the Finals/Olympics respectively, 2. I believe both were benched during their respective runs, and 3. Yes, NHL teams do get to choose their teams, just not as freely.
Edit: It looks like you deleted your post.

Well thats fine but, I'm just sayin this deal is not as bad as some of the others deals (i'll list examples over PM of you'd like, but i dont want to critize other GMs moves)
Ya I deleted it cause i knew this would just go on forever and If feel that strongly about then go ahead and veto it I dont care

Carter was bad in the finals to if he hadn't hit Nemi right in the head we woulda at least seen game 7. Does that lower his trade value.

No need to PM, dude. It was also the fact that Buffalo is just taking on tons of salary and very little is coming back. If the salary was evened out a little bit and maybe one of the prospects/pick be switched to a second or third, I'd probably be down. But, once again, it doesn't matter what i think.
Edit: Regarding your last post- Carter was playing on two broken feet and a bum shoulder. I think that shows his heart more than anything. He's not on my team anymore, either, so I have no reason to vouch for him to "increase" his value and whatnot.

This discussion looks like it is for nothing right now. Buffalo has not confirmed the deal and even if they do it is likely to be vetoed because they don't have the cap room to do so. This trade leaves Buffalo with little cap room and they do not have a full roster. We need the Buffalo GM to come on and discuss this deal.

This isnt a very bad deal for buffalo...i mean if they are making a cup run. They get 2 good nhl ready players and the prospects they are trading wont make a huge impact this year. Yes they do get rid of their 1st but they are getting a gold medal winner. They also get a solid pick in return where a good player can be picked....As for Edm, they are just rebuilding with younger talent

i confirm this trade, Since i'm trying to go for the cup i thought Sheldon Souray and Patrice Bergeron would help me big time. Who cares if i'm over the cap or not, who ever said i was done trading? by the time i'm done with this team, i will have to best team in the league and still have a good 10 mil left. Why veto it? I agree with it. and if Horton can go to Boston for Wideman, 15th Overall and 3rd in 2011, in real life, then why can't this trade happen?
