LaRose is more likely to put up around 50, but that still leaves you with more points then backstrom and semin

thank you tj. and i DO know what I'm doing. I've been following hockey my whole life. I watched Carolina build a cup winner out of a team that was last place in the NHL two seasons earlier in front of my own eyes. I know how its done.

I think what people are trying to say is you are trading Backstrom( a one of kind player) for Sutter(who is still good but is not irreplacable)

I watched Carolina build a cup winner out of a team that was last place in the NHL two seasons earlier in front of my own eyes. I know how its done. Washington is a first place team that needs tweaking on defense and perhaps goaltending to get to the next level and win a Cup. They do NOT need a complete annihilation and rebuild of their team. I think a major factor is that Backstrom, arguably a top 5 or 10 player in the league, is worth more than "depth". Depth can be achieved through other means than trading your star player.

Backstrom should be as untouchable as Stamkos, Doughty, etc.
This is garbage value for a top 3 center in the league.
Bowman, Boychuk, Sutter, and a 1st Round Pick is more like it. I still more than likely wouldn't even accept that.
